The Satellite Pendant of two sizes is designed by Mathieu Matelot in 1953 with geometrical shapes and an organic shade to create outstanding sculptural aesthetics. The name, Satellite, was given by Matelot as a wink and tribute to the scientific progress in France in the years after the Second World War.
The Satellite Pendant holds the distinctive trait of Rigitulle, a technique and material invented by the designer himself that makes it possible to bend and fold the fabric-like metal sheet to an original, oblong-shaped pendant lamp. The lampshade has five color options; midnight black, white cloud, shy cherry, venetian gold and rainy grey, and is unique with its bulb all covered by perforated metal to exude an atmospheric light - creating a festive appearance. The interplay of light and shadow cast on walls and floors generate a dramatic feature in any dining room, hallway or restaurant. Care Instructions:
For dusting and light cleaning of the metal surface and frame use a soft, dry cloth.
For further cleaning, use a soft cloth that is firmly wrung in clean water for gently wiping the surface, and then immediately use a dry cloth to wipe the surface again.
If more thorough cleaning is necessary, use a mild detergent or washing-up liquid dissolved in water on a firmly wrung cloth. Afterwards, repeat the process with clean water as described above. Polish with a soft cloth after wiping.

Serge Mouille's insect-like designs from the 1950's were created as a reaction to heavier, clunkier Italian designs of the time. Serge Mouille wanted to create a modern lighting fixture that had delicate lines and a stunning visual presence. The Five-Arm Spider Ceiling Lamp is one of Serge's most versatile lamps. With arms that reach 27", 33", 37, 37 and 43", light can be projected to many different parts of the room. Further, each shade has independent rotation to allow for further flexibility.
True to Serge Mouille's original production philosophy, each piece is made entirely by hand in France using the original forms, molds and techniques created by Mouille nearly 70 years ago. The unique brass joint allows the head to swivel and turn to any position and hold steady. Each piece is stamped and numbered. Only 600 pieces are produced each year at the Mouille factory and distributed around the world.
