The Accordéon collection represents a new narrative in contemporary design: Slamp’s exclusive Lentiflex® material is heated and hand molded by the women who tailor light. Every piece is one of a kind, but the lamps are identical. A thin steel plaque on the side of each lamp is inscribed with “Handmade in Italy”, attesting to the product’s unique design. The internal structure and clasp match the fluidity of the external plissé diffusor and prevent the accumulation of dust. The lamp has dual switches, one for the shade and another for the base. Both light sources can be used together, and cast a uniform glow and a cotton-like silhouette. The table lamp’s shade and sockets have magnets to facilitate cleaning and changing the bulbs.

The Samba Table Lamp is luminous with its ocean blue or white reactive glaze covering the ceramic surface of the vase-shaped body. The pattern that has been carved into the ceramic at the lamp’s widest point absorbed the glaze differently, which gives this lamp an uptick in personality. The Off-white shantung shade with the Blue lamp or Beige linen shade with the White lamp by a matching finial.

Abaco Large Table Lamp

Though the eye could be influenced to believe the Tattoo Table Lamp has a surface covered in basket-weave, the pattern is scratched from the brewed latte finish on the surface of the terracotta body. The wrought iron hardware in a Mole Black finish fits perfectly with the tones on the dark gray lamp, which has a terracotta finial in a matching finish to fasten the off-white linen drum shade to the piece.

Tattoo Table Lamp

After pursuing various configurations joining a sphere and a rectangle, this lesson in geometry led designer Signe Hytte to a beautifully balanced lamp embracing both. The Journey lamp cradled in the curve of its upright rectangular base, the sphere, when lit, conjures up the feeling of a full moon. And with the dimmer function, it’s a lamp that lets you adjust the atmosphere to suit your mood.
In terms of lighting, the dim to warm feature reflects science-based discoveries about how the right light contributes to our health and sense of well-being. Already incorporated into the Journey lamp, it’s a state-of-the-art dimmer function in line with the findings from this year’s Nobel Prize winners. Confirm our inner biological clock and the importance of colder, white light for an energy boost and warm light for creating a sense of calm.
The Journey lamp works as a table lamp and a wall lamp. The opal glass shade exudes a soft, ambient light seamlessly controlled via the dimmer knob on the base. Choose from a mirrored chrome base and chrome dimmer for a monochromatic look. A matte black base with a brass dimmer. Or a clay-toned base with a brass dimmer. Either way, the merging of round and rectangular is a true tribute to Euclid, considered the Father of Geometry.
