Hans Jrgensen Wegner, (April 2, 1914" January 26, 2007), was a world renowned Danish furniture designer. His high quality and thoughtful work, along with a concerted effort from several of his manufacturers, contributed to the international popularity of mid-century Danish design. His style is often described as Organic Functionality, a modernist school with emphasis on functionality. This school of thought arose primarily in Scandinavian countries with contributions by Poul Henningsen, Alvar Aalto, and Arne Jacobsen. In his lifetime he designed over 500 different chairs, over 100 of which were put into mass production and many of which have become recognizable design icons.
Wegner worked for some time for Arne Jacobsen, a successful Danish designer. Wegner was in charge of the furniture in the Aarhus Municipal Hall, which Jacobsen designed. After some years under Jacobsen, Wegner started his own company. Along with fellow architect Brge Mogensen, he designed furniture for FDB (a Danish chain of grocery stores), spearheaded by Erik Kold" who founded an organization of Danish furniture makers that launched Danish design abroad.
In his later years Wegner became more attached to PP Mbler (which produces many of pieces originally designed for Johannes Hansen) and for whom he designed several chairs late in his life. He remained active throughout his life. An example of his later work is the"Hoop Chair", originally designed in 1965 with a steel tube base and finally put into production made entirely in wood in 1985 (for PP Mbler). Wegner retired from public life only in the last decade of his life.

Poul Kjrholm (1929-1980) was a trained carpenter and continued his studies at the Danish School of Arts and Crafts. He had a particular interest in different construction materials; especially steel which he considered a natural material with the same artistic fineness as other natural materials. Poul Kjrholm was employed at Fritz Hansen for about a year, where he designed a number of noteworthy chair prototypes. In 1955 Poul Kjrholm initiated his collaboration with manufacturer Ejvind Kold Christensen, which lasted until Poul Kjrholm"s death in 1980. In 1982, Fritz Hansen took over the production and sales of"The Kjrholm Collection", developed from 1951 to 1967, designs, which are logical to the minute detail with an aura of exclusivity. In 2007 Fritz Hansen added two new pieces to the Kjrholm Collection. Pieces that were never in production before, the PK8 side chair and PK58 dining table.

Scratches and Rust: Any scratches should be quickly treated. If rust begins to appear as a result of a scratch or bump, apply an anti-rust product such as Rustoleum; as quickly as possible, and then repaint the area. If treated correctly the furniture should last for many years.

Classic and contemporary stylistic elements define the Orla sofas and armchairs by Jasper Morrison, a masterpiece of contemporary design that has entered the collection of the Tate Modern, in London. Characterized by soft, sinuous lines, slender shells and generous, comfortable cushions, the Orla series is a tasteful addition to both domestic and contract settings.
For Orla sofa the structure is made of rigid composite polyurethane foam, with poplar plywood inserts and elastic belts; the Orla armchairs come with a fixed or swivelling structure made of foam. All versions are padded with multi-density polyurethane foam and fibre.
For the armchair the cover of the structure is fixed, but removable for the cushions, and is available in the fabrics and leathers of the collection; for the small sofa and small armchair, the cover is fixed for both the structure and the cushions – all of which are also available in the fabrics and leathers in the collection.

The Pavilion Couch, also commonly known as the Barcelona Day Bed, was designed by Mies van der Rohe along the same minimalist lines as the well-known Pavilion Chair.
The Pavilion Couch is upholstered in genuine Italian top-grain leather on all sides (except the bottom edge) similar to Spinneybeck top-grain leather used in the original version by Knoll. The frame is constructed of solid ash wood, and finished with a dark walnut stain. The matching genuine leather headrest can be fastened to either end.
The Pavilion Couch provides ample seating for several persons, and is ideal for social settings or other high-traffic commercial areas such as building lobbies or office reception areas.

Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (born Maria Ludwig Michael Mies; March 27, 1886" August 17, 1969) was a German-American architect. He is commonly referred to and was addressed as Mies, his surname. Along with Le Corbusier and Frank Lloyd Wright, he is widely regarded as one of the pioneering masters of modern architecture.
Mies, like many of his post-World War I contemporaries, sought to establish a new architectural style that could represent modern times just as Classical and Gothic did for their own eras. He created an influential twentieth-century architectural style, stated with extreme clarity and simplicity.
