Teak:

Clean daily with a moist cloth, water and washing-up liquid
Alternatively, use a soap flake solution to saturate the wood so that the furniture does not get stain as easily
You can also use a lukewarm cloth or a soft sponge for cleaning of your teak furniture
Teak will patina, over time, if left outdoors

Always place your cushions in an upright position when not in use
Please note, that despite the anti-bacterial protection, mildew can still form on the inner and outer covers if the cushion is not properly drained or cleaned
In case of food or drink spills, wash the spot immediately with warm soapy water and allow the cushion to dry in an upright position
For stubborn stains or built-up dirt, carefully wash with a recommended stain remover, such as Vanish (Vanish Oxi Action), and/or a high-pressure cleaner with moderate strength
It is a good idea to remove the core from the cover and wash and dry them separately

Hans Jorgensen Wegner, (April 2, 1914 - January 26, 2007), was a world renowned Danish furniture designer. His high quality and thoughtful work, along with a concerted effort from several of his manufacturers, contributed to the international popularity of mid-century Danish design. His style is often described as Organic Functionality, a modernist school with emphasis on functionality. This school of thought arose primarily in Scandinavian countries with contributions by Poul Henningsen, Alvar Aalto, and Arne Jacobsen. In his lifetime he designed over 500 different chairs, over 100 of which were put into mass production and many of which have become recognizable design icons.
Wegner worked for some time for Arne Jacobsen, a successful Danish designer. Wegner was in charge of the furniture in the Aarhus Municipal Hall, which Jacobsen designed. After some years under Jacobsen, Wegner started his own company. Along with fellow architect Borge Mogensen, he designed furniture for FDB (a Danish chain of grocery stores), spearheaded by Erik Kold - who founded an organization of Danish furniture makers that launched Danish design abroad.
In his later years Wegner became more attached to PP Mobler (which produces many of pieces originally designed for Johannes Hansen) and for whom he designed several chairs late in his life. He remained active throughout his life. An example of his later work is the"Hoop Chair", originally designed in 1965 with a steel tube base and finally put into production made entirely in wood in 1985 (for PP Mobler). Wegner retired from public life only in the last decade of his life.

Eero Saarinen, the son of influential Finnish architect Eliel Saarinen and his second wife, Louise, was born on his father"s 37th birthday, August 20, 1910. Beginning in September 1929, he studied sculpture at the Acadmie de la Grande Chaumire in Paris, France. He then went on to study at the Yale School of Architecture, completing his studies in 1934. Subsequently, he toured Europe and North Africa for a year and returned for a year to his native Finland, after which he returned to Cranbrook to work for his father and teach at the academy. He became a naturalized citizen of the United States in 1940. Saarinen was recruited by Donal McLaughlin, an architectural school friend from his Yale days, to join the military service in the Office of Strategic Services (OSS). Saarinen was assigned to draw illustrations for bomb disassembly manuals and to provide designs for the Situation Room in the White House. Saarinen worked full-time for the OSS until 1944. After his father"s death in 1950, Saarinen founded his own architect"s office,"Eero Saarinen and Associates". Eero Saarinen died of a brain tumor in 1961 at the age of 51.

Poul Kjrholm (1929-1980) was a trained carpenter and continued his studies at the Danish School of Arts and Crafts. He had a particular interest in different construction materials; especially steel which he considered a natural material with the same artistic fineness as other natural materials. Poul Kjrholm was employed at Fritz Hansen for about a year, where he designed a number of noteworthy chair prototypes. In 1955 Poul Kjrholm initiated his collaboration with manufacturer Ejvind Kold Christensen, which lasted until Poul Kjrholm"s death in 1980. In 1982, Fritz Hansen took over the production and sales of"The Kjrholm Collection", developed from 1951 to 1967, designs, which are logical to the minute detail with an aura of exclusivity. In 2007 Fritz Hansen added two new pieces to the Kjrholm Collection. Pieces that were never in production before, the PK8 side chair and PK58 dining table.

A luxuriously deep-lying sofa that recalls an old fashioned kind of comfort. It has two large feather seat cushions that contain a dividing layer of natural cocolock underneath, lending a little stiffness to the feel of the seat, while still allowing the sitter to enjoy the softness of the feather without sinking.

Two more large feather back cushions fit in the pleasingly angular frame, which sits on splayed powder-coated, tubular steel legs. Elmer is made with an FSC approved beech frame, jute and elasticated webbing and then covered with a mix of renewable materials that includes natural fibres, animal hair and wool. Oversized, welcoming and with an unlikely look of poise, this piece is the ultimate in comfort. Made in Norfolk, England.

Le Corbusier was born as Charles-douard Jeanneret-Gris (1887-1914) in La Chaux-de-Fonds, a small city in Neuchtel canton in north-western Switzerland, in the Jura mountains, just 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) across the border from France.
He began experimenting with furniture design in 1928 after inviting the architect, Charlotte Perriand, to join his studio. His cousin, Pierre Jeanneret, also collaborated on many of the designs. Before the arrival of Perriand, Le Corbusier relied on ready-made furniture to furnish his projects, such as the simple pieces manufactured by Thonet, the company that manufactured his designs in the 1930s.
In 1928, Le Corbusier and Perriand began to put the expectations for furniture Le Corbusier outlined in his 1925 book L"Art Dcoratif d"aujourd"hui into practice. In the book he defined three different furniture types: type-needs, type-furniture, and human-limb objects. He defined human-limb objects as:"Extensions of our limbs and adapted to human functions that are type-needs and type-functions, therefore type-objects and type-furniture. The human-limb object is a docile servant. A good servant is discreet and self-effacing in order to leave his master free. Certainly, works of art are tools, beautiful tools. And long live the good taste manifested by choice, subtlety, proportion, and harmony".
The first results of the collaboration were three chrome-plated tubular steel chairs designed for two of his projects, The Maison la Roche in Paris and a pavilion for Barbara and Henry Church. The line of furniture was expanded for Le Corbusier"s 1929 Salon d"Automne installation,"Equipment for the Home".
