The Danish designer Simon Legald has designed a sophisticated range of lamps called Amp for Normann Copenhagen. The range consists of one table lamp and two pendant lamps. Amp is characterized by its high-quality materials of glass and marble that add a visual fragility and sensuous heaviness. Amp has a nostalgic and at the same time contemporary feel.
The idea for the lamp's shape came when the designer was restoring an old 60's radio at home. While searching for spare parts for the radio, he was captivated by the glow that emits from the tube amplifier. The simple oval shape and the glow of the bulb is an obvious reference to this, just as the name Amp refers to the English term; tube amplifier . The proportions for each lamp have been carefully designed. For example, the marble sockets of the two pendant lamps are smaller than the marble base of the table lamp to emphasize their different functions.
The designer has visually highlighted the essential details, such as the way the shade rests on the socket. By combining the two natural materials, an exciting contrast between the transparent, light glass and the solid, heavy marble is created. The decorative bulb emits a stunning glow though the either gold or smoke colored glass lampshades. The lamp is available with a socket or base in impactful black marble or striking jade green, emphasizing the natural colorful elegance of the material.

The Amp Lamps come with matching textile cord, and dimmer switches for the table lamp. The shades can easily be removed when changing bulbs.

Ever since the early 1990s, Santa & Cole has championed the use of ribbon shades to embellish all manner of light sources, exploring textiles and experimenting with colours and tones (they even enlisted the help of Raw Color studio). The GT5 was the first in the collection arising as an alternative to the use of continuous textile, methacrylate and cardboard shades. Sir Terence Conran's Hector Bibendum light, which has been designed to celebrate Original BTC's 21st birthday and the Michelin building's centenary, is a reinterpretation of a classic design by one of the greatest design gurus of our time.
Hector Bibendum, a fresh take on the Original BTC Hector light, takes its inspiration from the iconic Michelin man's layered tyre body while retaining Original BTC's signature cotton-braided cord. "I have used Original BTC's classic lights for over 20 years." says Conran... It was a natural progression.

The Menagerie Collection starts its journey in the Soho pottery studio where Jonathan and his team hand-sculpt the original model in clay. The prototype is then sent to Jonathan Adler's workshop in Peru where skilled artisans produce each piece in high-fired stoneware.
