First designed in 1947, the George Nelson Bubble Lamp Collection has stood the test of time. The simple structural shapes with the innovative use of taut plastic over fine steel wire were born from George Nelson's frustration to buy a Swedish-made silk lamp which produced a soft light. Ever since the early 1990s, Santa & Cole has championed the use of ribbon shades to embellish all manner of light sources, exploring textiles and experimenting with colours and tones (they even enlisted the help of Raw Color studio). The GT5 was the first in the collection arising as an alternative to the use of continuous textile, methacrylate and cardboard shades. The Sarah Ceiling Mount Fixture is constructed of brass and American-made vegetable tanned leather. The brass rod can be cut to a custom length or removed entirely so the fixture can be flush mounted, making it a versatile piece for any ceiling height. If you have a specific drop requirement, please specify. It comes with a canopy for hardwire installation. The bottom of the fixture has a thin white diffuser so that the light bulbs will not be exposed, creating a soft glow. There are two brass sockets within the fixture so ample light will spread evenly. Allows for two candelabra bulbs per fixture.

East meets West in Jaime Hayon’s playful tweak of a traditional Asian lantern in contemporary expression. Dating back centuries, paper lanterns have featured in Asia amongst the privileged and the poor, where different colors, shapes and sizes connote different meanings. Here Hayon has dispensed with cultural formalities to create a series of lamps all in white. Hand crafted with rice paper merging various sizes and shapes together. The series is comprised of three different lantern versions and a table lamp in ivory white rice paper with black stained oak accents.
